Confession is a
formal statement admitting to a crime, but True confession is a formal
statement admitting to a crime and never doing it again. Here a crime means
sins and a person admits his/her sins before God to seek forgiveness and
purification. Somebody can confess for his wrong did but in next few days he
repeat the same doings, this is not a true confession. The true confession is
to confess and not repeat what you have confessed for.
The word of God considers the person as the dog returns to
his vomit or a sow after being washed wallowing on mire; after his
sanctification then repeat on wrong doings (sins).
2 Peter 2:21 For it
would have been better for them no to have known the way of righteousness, than
having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it
has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own
vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
Also the scriptures tell us that; it is better not to know
the way of righteousness than known it and turning back to sins. Because when
the person knows the true way is when satan raise a fighting against him, to
ensure he will not stand on the right path. And if this person failed to stand
he fall on satan hands, where he is given no chance to confess and return to
God unless by God’s mercy.
