WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

What is “who are you?” question?
Who are you question is a rhetorical type question intending to insult or abuse somebody which may be accompanied with or without finger pointing. The insult or abuse is purposely directed to offended person for the aim of undermining his/her potentials, abilities and/or generosity. Mostly, insecure people use this question to discourage their opponents. Timid people are easily moved by this kind of question.

A “who are you?” question aims to destruct you and make you think and feel nothing than you are nobody without abilities of achieving anything.
People who always want to insult or abuse others, they real know the capabilities of those people but they are doing so just to discourage them on their next moves and make them quit. Purposely they are doing this to get rid of the challenger on their ways.

Why people choose to be discourage-rs?
Discourage-rs choose to be so for their own benefit(s), because they want to get the best out of everything and everybody. Discourage-rs’ behavior is “never give a helping hand to anybody”. They believe, helping others will make them beneath those they are helping. Discourage-rs never believe success in helping other to achieve the best. They feel pleasure seeing somebody suffers or hustle, whenever somebody take his/her first step or move they throw arrows to make sure these people stays down.

Discourage-rs are like witches. Sometimes they may plan to bring somebody down who are already achieved. When people go down from heroes to zeros is their happiness. People like these are not competitors, are witches.

Dealing with discouraging people
You don’t have to waste your time dealing with discourage-rs, the envy people. You have to take their discouragement as an opportunity to grow big and not as challenge to stop you from achieving the best. If people discourage you from achieving something that means something the best with great value is ahead you. People may discourage you from achieving the best because they fear your challenge or just because they are envy. So, stop wasting your time trying to deal with them or please them. When you start dealing with discourage-rs you start losing focus and get out of the rail.

Don’t waste time proving who you are? Show people who you really are and what you are capable of (achieve whatever they are stopping you from achieving). They undermine you, show them your really powers.

No power can stand against you
No power can stand against you, if you understand who you are no matter what others may say what you are. You are an amazing and unique creature ever created equipped with capabilities to achieve anything. God created you from His own image. Knowing that is not enough to strengthening you? If not, read the following Bible scripture with me, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Roman 8:31. No man, no words, no powers can stand on and break your way because God who is your strength is with you. Take deep breath and relax, the adventure is out there. You are the champion, the achiever and the winner.

A CALL TO REBUILD THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD

Dear brothers and sisters, greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Haggai 1:3-4, Then the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying: “Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”.
Once upon a time, the Israelite were building themselves very luxurious houses but they forgot to build and beatify the house of the LORD. They were living in beautiful paneled or ceiling houses while the temple of God was lying in ruins or waste. Then the word of God came to them through Haggai reminding them to rebuild the temple of LORD.

The same word comes to us today, we people of the last church we are building very luxurious houses for us to dwell in but we forget to rebuild the Temple of God. Both: physical and spiritual temples. The temples we go gathering together for praying and worshiping the LORD. It is not necessarily that we should build or rebuild our local churches; we are supposed to build any church whose teachings are the true teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us join forces together and build LORD’s temples anywhere and everywhere so that the gospel of Jesus Christ and His resurrection should be preached to every living creature. It is very disappointing that nowadays people are able contributing for ceremonies but unable contributing for the work of the LORD. We should make the LORD our God known everywhere; let us preach the good news together because this is what we were called for (Mark 16:15 & Matthew 10:7-8).

The word of the LORD continues, “Go up into the hills, bring down lumber, and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified, says the LORD” Haggai 1:8. Not only the physical temples but also the spiritual temples and remember we are the temples of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells whenever God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son dwells. While building the physical temples, we are supposed to build ourselves as we are the spiritual temples of the LORD. Let make our LORD take pleasure and be glorified in us.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
From the above verse from the Holy Bible, we may be building beautiful and luxurious physical temples for the LORD but forgetting our bodies as temples for the Holy Spirit. As an individual, does your body honors God? You were saved by the grace of God and sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ. Maintain purity, because purity will give you courage to preach the good news, that gospel of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. If, as an individual temple you are not pure how can you preach to others? How can you preach what you are not doing? Actions preach louder than merely words.

Whenever building or rebuilding the physical temple of the LORD remember to build or rebuild yourself as the spiritual temple of the LORD. Whatever you want to do; speaking, wearing, and going/visiting you should ask yourself the following questions: does this please the LORD? Does this distinguish me from the world? If it does not please the LORD and it does not distinguish you from the world, then forget it.

Be that light and salt the LORD our good God created you to be. Let your life preach the good news in Jesus name. Amen.

TRUE BELIEVERS AND DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST

Dear brethren, our greetings in Jesus' name.

Today we are going to learn about true believer and disciple of Jesus Christ. Who is s/he?
By a simple definition, believer and disciple is a person who believes in the truth of existence and follower of Jesus Christ. This is a person who is living entirely to fulfill God's laws and please the Lord with his/her life. As world's civilization, changing of society's morals will never dictate God's standards so does a true believer and disciple of Jesus Christ will always comply with God's commands.

God (Jesus Christ) is the same yesterday, today and for ever (Hebrews 13:8). Heaven and earth shall pass away (may change) but God's words (commands) shall not pass away (will never change), Matthew 24:35 or Luke 21:33. True believers and disciples of Jesus Christ are not moved by this wicked and evil world, they have devoted their lives to please the Lord, Heavenly Father, Jehovah.

As this wicked world is teaching us its evils, true believers and disciples of Jesus Christ will never be trapped in its tricks. True believers and disciples of Jesus Christ will never do the following no matter they seems of being civilized on human eyes but they are sins before God.

  • Homosexuality (gays and lesbians)
Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9

  • Anal/oral sex/intercourse
Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, Leviticus 18:22

  • Adultery
Exodus 20:14, Leviticus 20:10, Hebrews 13:4, Proverbs 6:32-34, 1 Corinthians 6:9

  • Masturbation
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, 1 Peter 2:11, Galatians 5:19-21, Colossians 3:5, Matthew 5:28

God's mercy and grace are still there, everybody have a chance to repent his/her sins and surely God is forgiving whoever repent (1 John 1:9).

HIDDEN SIN AND BLESSINGS OF VOWS

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Today let us discuss about sin and blessings hidden in vows;

Entering great tribulation at a difficult time when we have nothing to offer as a sacrifice for our prayers to be received and answered by God, we offer vow (Psalm 66:13-14). Vow is a promise we make with God that whenever He answers our prayers we will offer Him a sacrifice. At this time of praying we cannot offer such a sacrifice because we have nothing to offer but yet we need God’s intervention into our situations. Therefore, we ask God to intervene and promising to offer Him a sacrifice. This offer can be anything that we think pleases God. It can be monetary or material thing, which can be directly offered to God on alter or indirectly offered to God by helping people in needs. Widows, orphans, patients in hospitals and disabled people are the people in needs. However, Christians supposed to give sacrifices to God whenever we gather together to worship. Furthermore, we are supposed to help people in needs whenever we can, helping others especially who are in needs such as widows, orphans, disabled and ill people pleases God more than being a merely Christian (James 1:27).

Not every prayer needs offerings. There are some prayers need offerings to receive answers from God. Offering breaks whatever is holding answers from God. How can you know that God is asking an offering? You can hear the whispering and calm voice of God Himself, however God may talk to you through His servants; pastors and preachers. But you need to be very careful, there are fake pastors claiming themselves to be men of God but truly they are thieves. Also, when the situation is difficult and God seems to be far away or you feel no connection to God, it is when offerings work. God asked Ibrahim, our father of faith, to offer a sacrifice before He (God) can make a covenant with him by blessing him and making him a blessing to others and making him father of nations (Genesis 15:7-9). Once Ibrahim offered his sacrifices, God made a covenant with him that day; blessed him and made him father of nations (Genesis 15:10-11, 17-21). In circumstances when you have nothing to offer as a sacrifice, you make a promise that you will offer your sacrifice in the coming days, months or years after God has answered your prayers. This promise is what known as vow.

Unfortunately it is a problem with most of believers, once we receive answers to our prayers we forget to fulfill our vow. Take this example; once in a lifetime you might have borrowed money from bank. No bank offers a second loan when the first loan is not returned in full or at least by 50%. Unpaid loan makes a debtor ineligible for another loan. This applies the same with vow; unpaid vow makes us ineligible for God’s blessings in our lives. Sometimes things dont work on us because we have unfulfilled vows. Henceforth the unfulfilled vow stands between us and our blessings and block them from us.

Unfulfilled vow is a sin before God. It is lying and we all know that lying is a sin before God, because He hates lying lips (Proverbs 12:22, John 8:44). It is like you are trying to fool God, remember nobody can fool God except we are fooling ourselves. Did you know that, God doesn’t listen to sinners’ prayers? Read these Bible verses (John 9:31 and Isaiah 59:2). Therefore sinners’ prayers receive no answers because they are never heard by God.

Remember, if you ever had a vow, plan to fulfill it as early as possible. There was a man called Jonah, this man was told by God to go to Nineveh to preach good news but he decided to go to Tarshish. On his way to Tarshish, they drowned him because there was heavy storm on sea. He was swallowed by fish.  In the fish’s belly, Jonah prayed to God so that he may be released from the belly. He prayed his prayer, a long prayer, God was listening but He (God) didn’t command the fish to vomit Jonah. Once Jonah mentioned he is going to fulfill his vow, God commanded the fish that swallowed Jonah to vomit him (Jonah 2:1, 9-10).

Therefore, if you need God’s blessings in your life and you need God’s attentive hearing to your prayers, you should fulfill your entire vows (Psalm 66:13-14, Psalm 116:14). Never be forgetful about what you have promised God. If it is difficult for you to remember your promises to God, buy a notebook, whenever you make a promise (vow) to God, write it down in that notebook. Once you fulfill your vow, remember to update information on your notebook as well.

May God help you in remembering and fulfill all your vows in time. Amen.
